“I arrived at 3:56pm and they closed at 4.00pm. I was in town for work and thought I’d check out the museum to learn about the history of Taber. I was also hoping to grab a little gift for my SO while there too. The lady at the front greeted me and introduced me to the place. I noted that I realized they were only open for 4 more minutes, and she replied that it was perfectly fine for me to stay as long as I like, and she truly meant it, she wanted me to learn and was more than happy to show me around and teach me the basics of how Taber came to be. It was a super cool experience, and I’m glad I stopped in before heading back home!”

“I had the pleasure of experiencing a guided tour led by the wonderful Jen. From the moment one of my friends inquired about a tour, the staff was accommodating and friendly, and Jen proved to be an exceptional guide. Her knowledge and eagerness to share her findings and insights added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit. The museum's collection is simply astounding. With over 270 carriages on display, it offers a comprehensive exploration of the history of transportation. From the humble carriages of farmers to the luxury carriages, each exhibit provides a captivating glimpse into the past. The collection not only highlights the diversity of carriage designs but also educates visitors about the historical context behind them. One particular highlight of the museum is its restoration workshop. Witnessing the meticulous process of repairing and restoring these magnificent carriages was truly fascinating. The dedication and expertise of the craftsmen involved are evident in the impeccable results they achieve. It was a pleasure to learn about the time and care it takes to preserve these historical treasures for future generations. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the Remington Carriage Museum!”

Since they are out in the open you can walk right up to them, around and under them. All very cool. If you are in the area it is definitely worth the visit. Expect to take 30 to 45 minutes to walk around depending on how much you examine the plans and read the descriptions/stories. Make sure you don’t just stop at the museum itself as the Airpark is further along the road. The Airpark is free entry and had accessible parking.”

“Really great place to learn about the earlist English settlers in Nova Scotia (the Planters). Our docent was exceptional (born and bred in the area) and filled in all the blanks regarding who and when. It's another example of local individuals stepping in to prevent the demoltion of historic buildings and to contribute to their restoration. Some of the history was ugly, but as our guide pointed out, if you don't confront the past, you can't correct the future.”

Canadian Potato Museum & Antique Farm Machinery Museum

Address: 1 Dewar Ln, O'Leary, PE C0B 1V0, Canada

Museum Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this museum. We attended a potato museum in Blackfoot, ID. And, we were thinking this one would be pretty much along the same lines. Boy! We were wrong. This potato museum goes into depth about the history of the potato, how the Eurporeans 'discovered' it, how it is planted and seeded today, how it is harvested and the various kinds of diseases and pest that can infect the potato. The videos were professonally done, and we enjoyed watching them. There is a section that has a lot of old farming equipment used to plant and harvest the potato. The added bonus was a bit of history for the local area. All in all we were very impressed. Highly recommend this museum.”
