Pacific Rim National Park Reserve

“Pacific Rim National Park Reserve is a stunning protected area located on Vancouver Island, Canada. It's renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, including rugged coastlines, ancient rainforests, and pristine beaches. The park is divided into three distinct regions: Long Beach, the Broken Group Islands, and the West Coast Trail. Visitors can explore a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, kayaking, and wildlife watching. It's a haven for nature enthusiasts and offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the Pacific coastline and the diverse ecosystems of the region. We went just hiking and checked out the beach around with a lot of surfers. The park is really nice. Both trails together are roughly 4km of steps and trail. All new made and really secure. The forest is really impressive with its huge trees. The parking for a group costs 21 dollars or 10 per person. There are plenty of small benches to make breaks and look at the view. You could see bears and a lot of birds here.”

“This place had a scenic view of the lake in the park which was pretty much exciting, watching and listening as the water rush calms me down. It’s quite peaceful the more you watch those waters run. I definitely love Those Little gray Rocks 🪨 placed in the middle of the park right at the entrance. There’s a shed for those who would want some privacy, there are seats outside for a large number of people just incase you wanna eat or drink something. And there’s a trail around the grass where you can take a little walk In the woods 🪵.This is a good place for hiking 🥾 as well. HAPPY HIKING 🥾 🫶”

“Stayed here again after loving it so much. Unfortunately had to witness the lovely couple who run this gorgeous place get yelled at and accused of untrue things. They couldn't even get a word in. Showed up at check in time to my campsite, and there was a party still there. Check out time for them was extended as a kindness, and for them to yell and use unkind words infront of myself and other campers around were just appalled. It was a wedding party I understand, it's sad to see them be so un grateful and entitled to treat the managers like this. I was displaced and had to take another site due to this inconvenience. Management had to apologize to all campers around for the wedding party's behavior. Please don't believe these 1 star negative reviews all within the day, as this is an untrue picture painted on this beautiful space & people. Beautiful campground and park. Extremely well kept by lovely people. Such a pleasure to stay here and sleep by the ocean.”

“If you like rustic this place is awesome. Running cold water only and electrical in cabins with beautiful decks overlooking the lake. Couple of them had toilets but we opted out. They have clean seperate bathrooms and showers. Awesome artwork can be viewed throughout property. Could not say enough about the hospitality. The owners are great very accommodating and friendly and awesome to chat with. They chopped up would ready for the fire pit for us to return to from early evening fishing. Lake has fish albeit small we caught several (trout). Swimming wasn't really an option as there was much algae as the lake had released. Mind you we did see kids swimming and in all fairness the weather wasnt on our side. Do bring water for drinking as there is a water advisory water must be boiled it comes from the lake. Would return and recommend.”

Jimsmith Lake Provincial Park

“Really nice campground with large sites. The lake is really nice and clean. There is a lot of wildlife in the area. The park ranger was really nice and willing to help with any questions that we had. We showed up with 7 people in our party and set up 4 tents between a double site. There was still plenty of room on the site and ample space between sites to where your neighbors aren't bothered with a little noise.”

Fillongley Provincial Park

Address: Denman Island, BC V0R 1T0, Canada

Park Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“The park is one of the most peaceful BC Park campgrounds I have stayed at on Vancouver Island. However the sites are smaller than normal with less shrubs between the sites making it feel a little more cozy with your neighbors. If you want the full privacy that you can get with some campgrounds, this is not the place for you. The beauty of the park makes it worth it for me. Watching the sunrise and sunset from the beach, which is less than a 5 minute walk from the site, is the most magical experience.”

The kayak gear is so high quality and well-prepared I am so glad I came here and I would highly recommend everyone to come!! Such a cool place I will be back💕”

“Probably the best and nicest course I've ever played. Marshall was a boss( in a good way) club house/ pro Doug is an absolute gem. Bought a speaker that didnt end up working. By the time we noticed, I was back in alberta and he didn't even flinch on making the purchase right for me. Sent it back and he made things right( he didn't have to). This reason alone is why ill be going back every summer and playing. As for the course, tough, challenging and rewarding with picturesque holes everywhere. Thanks again Doug, we'll be back soon for sure.”

Morning Beach Park

Address: 7600 Denman Rd, Denman Island, BC V0R 1T0, Canada

Park Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“Morning Beach Park is absolutely a hidden gem on Denman island. You'll want to visit during low tide so look up when that is and plan your trip accordingly. You will need to take the ferry out to the island and then drive about 10 minutes. Park along the road and follow the path to the start of the staircase down. The staircase from the top to the shore is just over 100 steps. Some of the stairs are a bit wobbly and there are sections where the railing is a rope rather than wooden. The stairs seem perfectly safe and we had no issues getting to the shore. In low tide, there is so much shoreline and beach present. During our trip out, there were only two other couples on the beach but there was tons of room for there to be a whole lot more people and it not feel crowded. It is important to note, there are no washrooms onsite. You will need to travel back to the village or the terminal for those.”

Horne Lake Caves

Address: 3905 Horne Lake Caves Rd, Qualicum Beach, BC V9K 2L7, Canada

Park Travel agency Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“We hiked the trails but didn't do the guided tours. The switchbacks help, and the trails are well maintained, but you definitely need stamina and 'climbing legs'. There are nice educational signs along the way that you can use to rest without looking lazy or out of shape ("Hey kids, let's read these signs and learn about caves!"). The road is gravel and full of potholes, so it's an adventure to get here, but the remoteness has probably helped keep things less damaged from the worst tourists...”
